    Update:
I rounded up to 4 stars now after more use because my toddler LOVES this plate. She wants to use it for every meal. It’s still awful for dinner purposes (can’t put this in the microwave either for leftovers day), but it’s not bad for breakfast or lunch.

    Pros:
    – Charming! Bright and colorful. Vibrant design.

    – “hidden” treat in the center. That’s a cute concept.

    – I like all the divided sections, since that’s how my daughter prefers her food.

    – Easy to wash, dishwasher safe.

    – Nice quality! It feels sturdy.

    – The plate section can also be utilized, not just the cups. I like all the usable space!

    – I definitely think this could help those with picky eaters, in theory. Your miles may vary, of course. My daughter is pretty adventurous for a toddler, and I mostly wanted this because it’s a cute plate that helps make eating fun and colorful.

    Cons:
    – The cups are too shallow. I used a toddler’s hand for reference to show just how small they are. Adding all 5 sections together, it makes enough food for a toddler, but the problem is that it’s so shallow that food doesn’t fit in nicely. I’m not sure what treats really fit in the little middle section… I’ve done fruit snacks, which it worked decently well for, but not sure what else. Maybe some blueberries?

    Things to consider:
    – 5 sections is a lot and I don’t typically make that many different foods for meals or snacks. I just repeat food in a different cup (so, green beans in 2 sections, for example), but some toddlers might not like that.

    – Feels a bit gimmicky. Do kids actually have enough impulse control to not dive right for the treat? My daughter is 2.5, so maybe she’s just not old enough to understand the concept yet. I don’t mind her eating the treat with her meal, since I’ve read that’s the best way of approaching food, and not to use treats as rewards. Offer them with meals so they eat filling stuff with the treat, don’t glamorize treats so it doesn’t feel special. Anyways, that’s been working well for our family.

    Overall thoughts:
The divided plate is cute and easy to wash, but the really shallow and small cups make it hard to fit a lot of foods types into. Would be a perfect snack platter, though! The concept of eating each section to get a treat (reward) is a bit outdated from current recommendations, so I wouldn’t take that too seriously and just let your kid eat from the plate. (Perhaps that’s different for picky eaters, though, or your household does it differently, no judgment either way!)

For the price, those cups should be bigger so this product will last longer. Definitely wouldn’t hold enough food for any older than a toddler, though you could add more food outside the cups.

This plate is a great way to encourage picky eaters to try new foods. It is made of sturdy plastic and has a fun game-like design. The portion cups are small and the board has a hidden treat in the middle for the kids to work towards. It is microwave and dishwasher safe, and a great way to make mealtime more fun and exciting. It is definitely worth the price and highly recommended.
